The Big Wave

This sculpture celebrates the act of riding a wave; an activity I associate with my youth. The pigmented concrete colours correspond to the colours I associate with the elements of a big wave; white (seafoam), beige (sand), turquoise (shallow water), and marine blue (deep water). The Big Wave was first exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2019 (Perth, Western Australia), but is now permanently installed as part of the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail in New South Wales, Australia.
