Playful Composition
Playful Composition, Jardin de Métis, Canada
Influenced by Aldo van Eyck’s children’s playgrounds and Kandinsky’s paintings, this garden reimagines landscape as composition. A ‘playsage’ in one corner incorporates many forms of children’s outdoor play with colourful plants that can be stepped on. A curved reflective wall houses climbing rods and play tubes. A sandpit and puddles occupy the other side of the curved wall, along with a triangular edible garden.
